Rick Ridgeway is a mountaineer, writer, and businessman who currently serves as Patagonia’s vice president of environmental affairs. Best known for having discovered the body of early twentieth-century adventurer George Mallory on Everest in 1999, Anker is captain of the North Face Athlete Team and continues to inspire with his climbing prowess and his thoughtful dedication to the people of the Himalaya. I've read a lot of outdoor adventure books and this is a great one. A nice switch from the "I climbed a mountain and almost died" type book (which I love.) As another reviewer said, I would have loved more photos. But the read was first rate. The feeling it gave me of being so far from civilization was excellent.
Adventure and conservation in one of the worlds most legendary places. There are not that many places left to explore in our world and this story is about exploring one of the last places. Highly recommended!
