As a whole, this is an excellent resource particularly for someone that is new to AWS Lambda. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was the lack of depth surrounding security (i.e. authorization/authentication of Lambda services). I would have given 4.5 if I could... The book is well written, easy to follow, and a perfect mix of coding tutorials and Lambda concepts. Highly recommend!
The author initially covers the basics of architecture, coding, testing and deployment of lambda function based apps. This is followed by chapters on Api gateway and a simple example on building Restful API.Cloud formation is sparsely covered. He covers scenarios where lambdas can and cannot be used . An insightful starter book on AWS lambda, especially if you want to move from hosting your service on es2 to a managed auto-scaled architecture.
This is a great little book to get you started with Lambda. You can get through it pretty quickly and it has the information you need to get you up and running. I found this book to be much easier to read than the AWS Lambda documentation, and it includes handy tips you won't find in the documentation.

How to set up IAM roles and policies. How to log. How to monitor. With a brief look at AWS API Gateway - as this is one event generator, which fits perfectly with AWS Lambda.
This text is a good all-in-one introductory tour of Lambda. But, if you’ve already used Lambda for even small projects, save yourself the $4. This is a no-fluff intro with some decent examples, but doesn't go any deeper than the AWS docs.Good parts:Easier to read and better organized than the AWS docs, and examples showcase the covered concepts. I've found this book very useful and well written. I haven't tried Lambda yet but after reading this book I feel I know the concepts and ideas in a very confident way.
I really found this book helpful. This is a short book, and priced appropriately, and provides a good introduction to AWS lambda functions, and how it fits into the bigger picture of AWS. It covers what they are good for, what they are not good for, and provides a couple of examples. It is clear this was written by somebody who has had experience using Lambda functions. The only complaint I might have is to use a monospace font for code listings.
This was a nice quick intro to AWS Lambda, easily digested in a couple hours. Kudos for that!Minor downside: code samples were formatted in fixed width boxes, so lots of line wraps, which makes even simple code snippets a bit painful to read.
